NTD Shielding Newsletter: May 2026

NTD Shielding Services has had a busy start to 2026. Continued growth, driven largely by our reputation for designing, manufacturing and installing RF, EMC and antenna test chambers, has led us to open a second office in St Helens. This issue introduces two new members of the team, features one of the amplifier manufacturers we work with and showcases two recent chamber projects.

New appointments

Peter Healy, Sales Director

Peter began his career in electronic engineering straight from school and moved into test instrumentation sales 19 years ago. He has a strong background within the EMC community and a reputation for his focus on supplier management and customer support.

Andy Watkins

Andy Watkins, Operations

Andy joins NTD from outside the industry, bringing a strong background in education, leadership and management, along with a Master’s in Leadership and Management. His focus is on the processes, systems and day-to-day running of the business, supporting and developing the team as NTD continues to grow.

Featured manufacturer: Vectawave

RF amplifiers are a significant investment, so NTD only supplies amplifiers from manufacturers with a solid reputation for reliability and support. Vectawave Class A RF power amplifiers are designed specifically for the demands of EMC immunity testing.

A Class A design operates with a 360-degree conduction angle and a regulated constant drain current. This allows the amplifier to deliver power into adverse loads, including short and open circuits, without foldback, shutdown or damage, which is essential given the varied and often mismatched loads found in EMC test environments.

Vectawave amplifiers also offer low harmonic distortion and high output power at the 1dB gain compression point, making them suitable for applications ranging from automotive OEMs to defence contractors and research institutions.
