EMI Shielding Honeycomb Vents

Any shielded room or enclosure needs ventilation, and every aperture in a shielded structure is a potential weak point. Honeycomb vent panels solve this by applying waveguide-below-cutoff principles to an array of hexagonal cells, allowing air to flow freely while maintaining the shielding integrity of the surrounding enclosure.

We supply a range of EMI shielding honeycomb vents for shielded rooms, Faraday cages, EMC chambers, equipment cabinets and screened enclosures of all kinds, in brass, steel and stainless steel, with framed or unframed configurations available.

Materials and Configurations

Brass Honeycomb Vents No BG

Brass Honeycomb Vents

Brass honeycomb panels offer strong broadband attenuation and are a popular choice for general-purpose shielded room ventilation. The solder-fused cell construction ensures consistent contact resistance across the panel face and long-term dimensional stability.

Available with or without mounting frame.

Steel Honeycomb Vents no BG

Steel Honeycomb Vents

Steel and stainless steel variants provide higher rigidity and enhanced performance in the magnetic field frequency range, making them well suited to environments with stringent low-frequency shielding requirements. Tin-plated steel achieves attenuation well in excess of 80 dB and is frequently specified for high-grade screened rooms and military applications.

Standard and Custom Sizes

Standard panel depth is 25mm. Popular standard panel sizes include 300x300x25mm and 600x300x25mm. Larger formats are available to order, including panels up to 1000x2000mm and beyond for room-scale installations. Custom dimensions are accommodated for bespoke chamber builds. Panels can be supplied with or without mounting frames.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between brass, steel and stainless steel honeycomb?
Brass provides good broadband attenuation suitable for most commercial and semi-anechoic chamber applications. Steel, particularly tin-plated steel, offers stronger magnetic field attenuation at lower frequencies and is the preferred option for high-specification screened rooms. Stainless steel adds corrosion resistance for harsh environments while maintaining comparable shielding performance.

Can panels be supplied to custom dimensions?
Yes. We accommodate non-standard sizes including very large format panels. Contact us with your dimensional requirements or drawing.

Are frames and gaskets included?
Panels can be supplied framed or unframed. Framed panels can be fitted with integral EMI gaskets for a ready-to-install assembly. Specify your mounting arrangement when enquiring.

EMI Shielding Honeycomb Vents
Our honeycomb vent panels are supplied in brass, steel and stainless steel to suit a broad range of shielding specifications and installation environments. The waveguide-below-cutoff cell structure allows air to pass freely while maintaining the electromagnetic integrity of the enclosure or room. Standard panel depth is 25mm. Popular sizes start at 300x300mm and 600x300mm, with large-format and fully custom dimensions available to order. Panels can be supplied framed or unframed, with or without integral EMI gaskets. Recent capacity expansion means we are able to offer more competitive pricing and faster lead times than previously. Whether you need a single replacement panel or a batch for a new build, get in touch and we will respond promptly.
