NTD Shielding Services supply a range of radio wave absorbing materials (RAM) which can be tailored to your specific chamber configuration and specification requirement. Such materials typically take the form of Ferrite Tiles or Pyramidal Absorbers.
The key physical attributes of Ferrite within shielding is that it consists of domains with polarised bias and this rotates against the oscillating wave to absorb radiated energy. Ferrites are very good between the frequency range 30MHz to 800MHz with performance diminishing thereafter.
All NTD Shielding Services chambers which are to comply with CISPR16-4-1 are fully lined with ferrite tiles to all 6 internal faces.

Ferrite Tiles – FT10
This is a single ferrite tile with dimensions of 100mm x 100mm and a thickness of 6.7mm. NTD tiles are precision machined to ensure that there are zero gaps between the tiles during installation thus improving the overall performance of the facility in which they are installed.

Ferrite Tiles – FT60
These are 600mm x 600mm ferrite boards which consist of 36 FT10 ferrite tiles. The 36 tiles are glued and pre-mounted to a timber backing board.

Ferrite Tiles – MFB60
This is a 600mm x 600mm movable ferrite board ideal for chamber floors where different test setups/configurations are required and when continuous manual handling can become an issue.

Tailored Materials for Chamber Performance
NTD supplies a full range of radio wave absorbing materials (RAM), including ferrite tiles and pyramidal absorbers, designed to meet precise chamber configurations and performance requirements. Ferrite materials are highly effective in the 30 MHz to 800 MHz range and are used extensively to ensure CISPR16-4-1 compliance. Our FT10 tiles are precision-machined for a near-gapless finish, while FT60 boards allow for faster installation and easier removal in modular setups. For higher frequency attenuation, we offer a range of carbon-loaded pyramidal foam absorbers selected according to the chamber’s dimensions and intended testing standard. Every solution is proposed with reference to client-specific test profiles and structural layouts.
